Either way, your body wants to keep going so it compensates. You may notice this as patterns of physical pain, emotional heaviness, anxiety, or depression.
These patterns use a lot of energy, interrupt your body’s optimal functioning and impact your nervous system – your body’s communication system.
You are not your symptoms.
When your nervous system is impacted by an acute event such as an accident or shock – or by chronic, repeated stress – your body goes into survival mode:
>> fight (inflammation, anger, pain)
>> flight (anxiety, panic, stress)
>> freeze (disconnection, spacing out, overwhelm)
>> fawn/appease (submit, smile, ‘tend-and-befriend’).
These automatic strategies can be life-saving. But, sometimes, things get stuck. And then, everything is affected – your body, mind, emotions. Your health.
Pain, illness or despair is your body’s way of telling you
something is out of balance.
Together, we go beneath the surface, beyond labels of pathology or disease, and listen to the story your body wants to share.
To where your body is connected and where parts are not talking to the rest of the body.
To the parts that are stuck.
Beneath the symptoms is the source.
When we listen to your body, your body begins to listen to itself.
This supports your body’s innate ability to repair and heal.
