Respectful, relational, reconnecting
+ Light touch
+ Fully clothed
+ Trauma-informed
Body work can help when other approaches have not because touch is our first language.
Sometimes the root of the challenges we experience is pre-verbal or pre-cognition. Many mental health challenges, emotional difficulties and chronic health conditions can be traced to early life stress, including anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, digestive issues, and more. In our work together, we connect to health and vitality that can be masked by physical and emotional symptoms.
These sessions come out of my background and training in Biodynamic Craniosacral work, Somatic Experiencing®, NARM®, and Transforming Touch®, as well as the ancestral and subtle body maps I’ve been engaged in over the past 20 years. Because sometimes words are too much and sometimes not enough, I integrate a combination of talk and touch.
This is re-connection work. My role as your guide is to support and strengthen your connection with your life force, no matter what physical or emotional challenge you are experiencing.
Relational, polyvagal-informed bodywork.
I came to Karishma after experiencing months of extreme anxiety before bed. I struggled to fall asleep and woke up several times during the night from nightmares. As a result of working with her, my sleep has become restful again.
In session with her, I am able to turn my attention to pain and negative emotions that I have consistently tried to bury. The sessions serve as a reminder of how to listen to my body and how to be with what comes up. I leave the sessions feeling lighter and more connected to my body, and most importantly, Karishma has guided me towards using these tools to thrive in my day to day life.
Karishma is a deep listener. I keep going back to her because I know I can trust that no matter what comes up in the session, she will help me uncover the tool or wisdom I need to get back to health.

What happens in a session
We begin seated together to check in and what your priority is for the session. We then transition to the somatic work.
Usually, the client will lay face-up on a treatment table. Every body is different and we can modify position or work seated, as needed. I prioritize comfort, boundaries, and consent. This is not massage or manipulative work; I use light touch, and some of this work can also be done without physical contact. I prioritize comfort, boundaries, and consent.
Much of the table work is quiet and without a lot of apparent outward activity. If you have an intention of building more connection with your body, we may check in about what we are both sensing. We may use simple movement to support your body to shift what may be stuck, or to help integrate the session work.
You may drop into a state between wake and sleep, or notice sensations such as warmth or coolness, tingling or digestive sounds. It is my intention to work in a slow and safe way, whatever arises in a session. I am trained to support you if there is discomfort as unprocessed experiences move through.
People often report greater ease at the end of the hour. As you deepen your relationship with your body, you increase your capacity for pleasure, joy, and connection to others.
Online & In person
The online Body Wisdom session uses somatic/energetic tracking and mindful inquiry to guide your exploration into what is at the root of your challenge. So that knots can unwind and what is stuck, can shift.
I was surprised by the depth of emotion that I was able to access and the clarity that I was able to see in Karishma’s presence. She held the space for me so lovingly and openly that I felt safe and secure while digging deeper than I probably ever have.
