Golden milk

The perfect bedtime beverage to soothe and support you at the edges of the seasons.

If your nerves need an extra something, consider adding 1/2 teaspoon of ground ashwagandha, available at health food stores.

 

Recipe: Golden milk

Ingredients
1 cup milk of your choice (if using dairy: consider organic, grass-fed and raw)
1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric
pinch of nutmeg (optional: you can add cinnamon and cardamom)
1 tsp ghee (optional)
honey to taste

Method
Place milk and turmeric into a small pot and bring to a boil.

Turn off the heat and add spices. Allow to infuse for several minutes.

Pour into a mug.

When cool enough to drink, stir in honey to taste and ghee, if desired.

(Important: do not add honey before this stage as Ayurveda teaches that heating honey makes it toxic!)
